Mission
Our mission is to conserve natural spaces, provide transformative nature-based education, and inspire families to build lifelong relationships with the land.
Vision
We envision a future where Central Florida’s natural spaces are restored, protected, and accessible for all.
Through the Energetic Nature Learning Community, free community nature programs, and land stewardship initiatives, we aim to cultivate a generation of environmentally conscious children and families.
Our long-term vision is to establish a 100-acre nature sanctuary in Lake County — a space dedicated to conservation, education, research, and personal renewal. This sanctuary will host our nature school, immersive retreats, community workshops, and a residence for visiting writers, scientists, photographers, and individuals seeking to reconnect with the Earth.
How we make it happen
Through the Energetic Nature Learning Community, South Lake County’s first nature school, we partner with homeschool families to spark curiosity and awaken the inner conservationist in every child. Meeting three days a week, we teach how to think, not what to think, reconnecting students with the wisdom of Indigenous peoples and the natural world.
We can’t do this alone. With your support—through donations, time, and resources—we restore Florida’s ecosystems and create spaces where people and wildlife thrive together. This is more than conservation; it’s a movement to reconnect humanity with the earth and inspire lasting change.

Our Ducks: Living Teachers of the Land
At Eco Roots Sanctuary, our small flock of Muscovy ducks plays an important role in the way we teach connection, stewardship, and reciprocity with the Earth. Gentle by nature and deeply attuned to their environment, Muscovy ducks are excellent for natural land care. They reduce pests, enrich the soil, and demonstrate the quiet intelligence found in every part of the ecosystem.
For the children in our Energetic Nature Learning Community, the ducks are more than animals — they are daily companions and living mirrors. Through feeding, observing, and caring for them, kids learn responsibility, emotional regulation, empathy, and the rhythms of the natural world. The ducks help us slow down, listen more closely, and understand how every creature contributes to the balance of our shared home.
By welcoming ducks into the sanctuary, we invite our community to reconnect with nature in simple, meaningful ways. They remind us that stewardship begins with relationship — and that tending the land always begins with tending to what’s alive right in front of us.
🦆 Feeding our ducks? Now that’s a quacktastic way to support the sanctuary.
Help nourish our feathered teachers — they’re always grateful for a good snack.
